Gardens: Botanical
Beautiful botanical gardens often benefit greatly from a stronger dedicated staff, although they still rely on public funding. Their primary goal is the documentation of flora for scientific research. They often focus on educating the public on garden conservation and the importance of plants on our planet. Many have educational programs in place besides the usual garden tours. Most are geared toward displaying their plant and flower collections to the public, though some remain private or have limited access. Botanical gardens occur worldwide and range in size from a few acres to hundreds of acres. Many have special regional themes that feature local plants.
