It's said that the earliest planned gardens for ornamental use date back to early Egyptian times - 1500 BC or so. Since then, millions of gardens around the world have sprung up to be enjoyed. While most of the oldest gardens (especially the botanical ones) aren't located in the U.S., there are many that have significance, being associated with important events in history.
