Arkansas Arboretum
located in Little Rock, Arkansas 

The Arkansas Arboretum (not to be confused with the South Arkansas Arboretum) is located in the midst of Pinnacle Mountain State Park and is operated by the park services. It was apparently founded in 1991 through a gift from International Paper Company around 1991 (though, this information has not been confirmed). It's 71 acres are located just below Pinnacle Mountain alongside the Maumelle River. The arboretum contains a wide variety of flora and fauna, and focuses on the 6 different geographical areas of Arkansas. There is a short 1/2 mile interpretive trail in the center of the arboretum that points out the various types of trees and other woody plants.
