Bissonnette Gardens
located in Wheeling, West Virginia

These gardens are on the grounds of the Oglebay Resort and Conference Center and were formerly known as the Waddington Gardens which existed in the early 1900s as a private estate. This colorful 16 acre site was created with those original gardens in mind, featuring springtime Tulips, Daffodils and Hyacinths (nearly 50,000 blooms). Later in the summer you'll view impatiens, petunias and geraniums, with fall closing out with chrysanthemums. The current gardens were named after Joseph F Bissonnette who was the Wheeling Park Commission director of development for nearly 20 years.

There are a great variety of other activities besides the gardens at the Oglebay Center including the Good Zoo & Benedum Planetarium, and water activities at Schenk Lake.
