C. Fred Edwards Conservatory
located in Huntington, West Virginia

As West Virginia's sole conservatory for plants, the C. Fred Edwards Conservatory is part of the Huntington Museum of Art grounds (not to be confused with the Huntington Library in Pasadena). They specialize in subtropical flora that vary with the seasons. The permanent plants on display include foxtail palms, zebra plants, and Australian Tree ferns. Some of the seasonal plants include pointsettias, freesias, lilies, cineraria, caladium, impatiens and asters.

The 2.5 miles of trails that run throughout the woodlands next to the museum are known for brilliant wildflower displays in the Spring. Two other gardens of note contained in the museum are Herb Gardens. The first is called a "Knot Garden" which is a traditionally formal herb or culinary garden grown in a square frame. The other is an educational herb garden containing ornamental and culinary plants that is maintained by volunteers who harvest the plants for sale.
