Crystal Springs Rhododendron Gardens
located in Portland, Oregon

Originally a rhododenron "test garden" developed in 1950, the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden (known as "Rhody Gardens" - source: Wikipedia) is now a joint venture of Portland Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society and Portland Parks and Rec. It currently spans seven acres.

These are some of the world's most wonderful collections of rhododendrons and azaleas in a beautiful scenic setting - the Crystal Springs Lake area. The lake also attracts wildlife and birds, making it an ideal place to view nature. There are over 2500 rhododendrons, azaleas, magnolias and other plants in the gardens, along with unusual trees. Peak blooming season is Mar-Jun, but you can see flowers the whole year around. Within the grounds, you can also view three waterfalls, two bridges, and lagoons accessible by gravel paths.

The garden hosts a variety of events yearly including an Early Show and Plant Sale in April, and a Mother's Day Rhododendron Show and Plant Sale. The grounds are available for wedding rentals and other functions - please check with the office for more information.
