Deerwood Arboretum and Nature Area
located in Brentwood, Tennessee

This is a great little city park that has an arboretum with over 69 different species of trees inside of it. It was actually converted into a park in the 90s from the city's sewage treatment facility if that can be believed.

Trails and bike paths where you can view the arboretum border the Little Harpeth River in the Brentwood area. Native Tennessee trees are the focus of the area, although there are a few non-native trees. The area is conducive to school tours and education activities, with a nature complex, wildflower meadow and an amphitheater. It currrently spans 27 acres.
