Ethel M Botanical Cactus Gardens
located in Henderson, Nevada

Hold on there just a minute... did you say chocolate and CACTUS? Yep, that's right - there's a Botanical Cactus Garden located at the Ethel M Chocolate factory in Henderson, and on top of that it's the largest on in Nevada (and one of the largest in the world actually).

After your tour of the chocolate factory itself, you can browse through the 4 acres of wonderful cacti, succulents and other drought-tolerant plants that have been placed in raised beds of sand and soil for easy viewing. The majority of the 300 species are local plants from the Southwest, although they have other flora from desert areas around the world. Some of the different types of cacti you'll find include: Beaver Tail, Giant Saguaro, Variegated and Maguey Century Plants, Prickly Pear, Chollas, Ocotillo, Barrel Cactus, Aloes, Acacias, Desert Willow, Creosote and Soaptree Yucca.

It's notable that the garden is meant to co-exist in harmony with the facility itself, by using recycled water from the Chocolate factory for irrigating the cacti and for the ponds.
