Fort Worth Botanical Gardens
located in Fort Worth, Texas

This is Texas's oldest botanical gardens featuring a wide variety of native and exotic specimens. At 114 acres there is a lot of ground to cover, much of which is free for the public (the Conservatory and Japanese gardens have a small admission fee). The two Lower Rose and Oval Rose and gardens feature thousands of blooms - the first inspired by Italian villas and the other featuring classic design and a gazebo over Texas-acclimated roses.

The fantastic Fuller Garden has wonderful paths going through different colorful floral themes. One of the most spectacular areas is the Japanese Gardens which feature traditional construction with a teahouse, pavillion, waterfall, sculpted hillsides, stonework and bridges with 5 peaceful ponds filled with multi-colored Koi fish.

The Texas Native Forest Boardwalk aims to educate the public about the native forest of the surrounding area and to encourage conservation. Another interesting part of the gardens is The Begonia Species Bank which aims to educate the public about begonias and attempting to prevent the loss of begonia species. Other gardens include a Perennial, 4 Seasons, Water Conservation and Trial Gardens. Tropical exotic plants like orchids and bromeliads abound in the 10,000 square foot Conservatory.
