Green Animals Topiary Garden
located in Portsmouth, Rhode Island 

This is the whimsical Green Animals Topiary Garden where you can see wonderful animals carved from shrubbery. It's actually part of a larger collection of historic houses and gardens that is administered by The Preservation Society of Newport County. There are at least 80 different topiary birds, lions, elephants, bears and other animals, cut from various boxwood, yes and privet on the seven acre estate. There are also other gardens including herb and vegetable and orchards to view along with the Victorian house.

Tickets are available through the site and will include admission to the topiary plus a number of other different historical attractions... please check the hours as they vary according to seasons.
