Hodges Gardens, Park and Wilderness Area
located in Many, Louisiana

Located halfway between Shreveport and Lake Charles, Hodges Gardens is now part of the Louisiana State Parks system. It's directly across from the Emerald Hills Resort and Golf Course. The 4700 acre area is a historic sites and preservation area, with the botanical gardens being around 40 acres.

It was originally the work of oil and gas businessman A.J. Hodges who began rennovating previously de-forested areas of Central Western Louisiana. The original gardens were located at the site of an abandoned rock quarry and was opened to the public in the 50s.

The area is very popular with vacationers and tourists, with many fishing, hiking, biking, and camping opportunities. Louisiana locals also host garden weddings, gatherings and tours in the area.
