Kathryn Stanton Patty Memorial Garden

Kathryn Stanton Patty was the wife of former president of the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, Ernest Patty. The Pattys were garden enthusiasts and transplanted hundreds of wildflowers to the front of their home.
After Kathryn passed away in 1961, this Memorial Garden was named after her. It originally consisted of a rock garden and a woodland garden that featured native perennials, but was nearly forgotten until recently when efforts were made to revive the areas. The original sunken and cracked concrete pavers have been replaced in the woodland garden and the rock garden was completely rennovated. Wildflowers and irises have been transplanted there as well.
