Missoula Memorial Rose Garden
located in Missoula,
Montana
This austere garden of roses was begun in 1946 as a memorial to those members of the armed forces from the Missoula area who perished in WWII. Since that time, the Missoula Rose Memorial Rose Park has become the site of memorials for many of the wars, most recently the Persian Gulf and Korean Wars. The Korean War Memorial is actually known as the State Korean War Memorial.
Over 2500 rose bushes have been planted to date. The park actually borders a Blue Star Memorial Highway which is part of a network of nationwide highways that are meant to pay tribute to veterans of the armed forces that have defended the United States.
