Navajo Nation Zoo and Botanical Park
located in Window Rock, Arizona

The Navajo National Zoological and Botanical Park is located in the capital of the Navajo Nation which is Window Rock, Arizona. There is currently no fee to drive through or visit the Nation, and the zoo is free during operating hours. However, there may be certain restrictions for other activities like hiking and camping within the Navajo Nation. Also, please remember to show respect to the desert land, people and the surrounding region.

The botanical garden park contains examples of native and non-native flora - pine, juniper, elm and grasslands among others.

The tribal zoo showcases different species of wild animals and birds in their natural environment - these include fox, coyote, cougar, bobcat, gila monsters, snakes, skunks, bear, elk, eagles, cranes, hawks and owls. The zoo is licensed by the US Dept of Agriculture. They are looking to expand the zoo in the future to include exhibits for reptiles, fish and other education programs.
