Norfolk Botanical Gardens
located in Norfolk, Virginia

Norfolk Botanical Gardens were originally part of a city garden area set aside by Norfolk in the 30s which specialized in azaleas, rhododendrons, daffodils and other plants. In 1958 it's title was changed to the current name.

The current garden spans 155 acres and has so many different themed areas it would be impossible to list all of them here. Standouts include a 3.5 acrea "Bicentennial Rose Garden", Sarah Lee Baker Garden featuring perennials, a Camellia garden with over 300 plants, a Japanese garden with koi pond, a colonial Herb Garden with gazebo, a tropical garden area with plants from all over the world, a Hydrangea Garden with over 200 different types and an 18 acre Arboretum with over 350 differnet types of flower trees.

Over 12 miles of trails wind through the garden, but should you get tired of walking they have a number of different options for viewing the garden including a shuttle and a BOAT tour.

The gardens offer a number of different indoor and outdoor venues for both weddings and other occasions. The outdoor locations include: Baker Overlook, Bicentennial Rose Garden, Bristow Butterfly Garden, Colonial Herb Garden, Japanese Garden, Kaufman Hydrangea Garden, Mayor's Rowreception, NATO Vista, Picnic Shelter, Sarah Lee Baker Perennial Garden, Renaissance Court, Statuary Vista, and Wildflower Meadow.
