Pratt Museum Botanical Gardens
located in Homer, Alaska

This garden area is part of the Pratt Museum and features the history natural environment of the Kachemak Bay region of Alaska. It is located in Homer on the Kenai Peninsula.

Information tours about the plants in the Botanical gardens are given weekly in the summer season. A large variety of plant species can be viewed together including forget-me-nots, columbines, lilies, fireweed and labrador tea. Of particular note in the garden are the flora shown here which grow high in the Alpine (higher than 1000 feet, but since the garden is at 100 feet they need to take special steps to keep the plants going!)

Other outside exhibits include interpretive forest trails and the Harrington Homestead Cabin. The museum has a lot of other things inside to check out as well, ranging from special exhibits on the people of Kachemak Bay to native wildlife and conservation efforts.
