Red Butte Garden and Arboretum
located in Salt Lake City, Utah

The University of Utah operates the Red Butte Gardens in Salt Lake City which have 18 acres of amazing botanical gardens. In addition to these, there are a huge amount of trails and natural areas - almost 140 acres that area associated with the gardens. And actually, the university campus itself is the State's aboretum with over 9000 tree specimens. The gardens were originially started by Nature Conservancy co-founder Walter Cottam in the 1930s.

Some of the different areas include a Water Pavillion, 4 Seasons Garden, Children's Garden, a waterfall area, Rose Garden, Herb / Fragrance / Medicinal Gardens (part of the Terraces) Hybrid Oak Grove, Conifer Collection and a Floral Walk. There are numerous areas to see Wildflower blooms as well along trails and within the gardens.

The gardens are available for wedding rental and for other events. For indoor weddings, the Richard K. Hemingway Orangerie is where most events take place. Outdoor wedding areas are also available, but only in the summer. In addition, it is a popular area for summer music shows and art exhibits.
