Rundlet-May House
located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire

This former home and estate of James Rundlet was originally built in 1807 and the 2 acre land parcel included stables, a carriage house, various gardens, orchards and several other buildings. Today, the layout of the gardens and surrounding grounds of the house are surprisingly similar to the original house layout. The terraced garden beds and borders may have less flowers but they are nevertheless beautiful, with some flowers including tiger lilies, roses and peonies. Much of the fruit trees in the fenced orchard has been replaced with easier to maintain shade trees. Rows of shrubs, paths, a spiral orchard and a pet cemetary complete the gardens.
