University of Alabama Arboretum
located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama 

This arboretum and botanical garden is located on the campus of the Univerity of Alabama and was founded in 1957. It covers over 60 acres and most of the land was donated by the federal government. A variety of gardens exist including Meadow and Wildflower gardens, Experimental and Children's Gardens and woodland walking trails. Much of the focus is on native plants, although they have greenhouses where they grow more exotic flowers like orchids.

The U of A Arboretum is adjacent to the University Golf Course off Pelham-Loop Road and Fifteenth Street. The arboretum can be rented for weddings and other events, but they have a limit of 50 people for these type of gatherings.
