URI Botanical Gardens
located in Kingston, Rhode Island 

The URI Botanical Gardens were originally built by nursery owners, gardeners and landscapers in the area in 1992 which was funded by a donation from the RI Nursery and Landscape Association. They are located on the campus of the University of Rhode Island. Some of the gardens available for viewing include a Memorial Garden, Ericaceous Garden, Annual Garden, Formal Garden, Shade Garden, Rose Garden and a Conservatory. The overal horticultural view tends to focus on best practices for sustainable landscaping. You can find out more information by contacting the Department of Plant Sciences.
