William Nordermeer Gardens
located in Rapid City, South Dakota

As superintendent of the Rapid City park system from the 60s to mid 80s, William Nordermeer helped with the design of many of the gardens in the area. These European-style formal gardens are actually located within Sioux Park (near Canyon Lake drive) and have walkways along with interpretive signs so visitors can learn about some of the more unusual flowers within the garden. There are over 10,000 annuals planted in the 70 or so formal flower beds.
