Yashiro Japanese Garden
located in Olympia, Washington 

This small but beautiful Japanese Garden is a joint effort between Olympia, Washington and their sister city Yashiro, Japan. At less than an acre, it is a small area in the hill / pond Japanese garden style, featuring classic gates a 13-tier pagoda, stone lanterns and other water features. It is relatively new, having only been built in 1990.

The park features picnic areas and sometimes showcases public art. It was designed by Robert Murase as "a visionary expression about our connectedness to nature and earth."
